La Distance
2077. While humanity survives, prey to precariousness and the consequences of global warming, part of the population has gone into exile on Mars. On Earth, a father struggles to maintain a relationship with his daughter who has left for the red planet. La Distance is a miniature lost in the immensity of the cosmos. Through this dystopian but probable scenario, Tiago Rodrigues questions both the consequences of our choices and the possibility of communicating between generations. The artist brings two worlds face to face, imagining their dialogue in orbit as a series of very, very, very long-distance calls. For the occasion, he surrounds himself with actors Adama Diop and Alison Dechamps in a rotating interplanetary set-up, like two stars caught in their course moving towards and away from each other.
