Catarina oder Von der Schönheit, Faschisten zu töten
This Portuguese family has an unusual tradition: every year on May 19, the anniversary of the murder of farm worker Catarina Eufémia by the dictatorship's henchmen, a fascist is killed. The day always begins with a joyous family celebration and ends with the execution of a delinquent. The aim is apparently to avenge an injustice. But this summer, the family is in turmoil. The younger generation is questioning what has been celebrated for three generations. One daughter, a vegan, now refuses the feast (pig's feet according to the family recipe), while another rejects the ritual of execution and doubts that violence can be a legitimate means of defending freedom and democracy.
