Juste la fin du monde
After a ten-year absence, Louis, the eldest son, returns to his mother, brother and sister to announce his impending death. The reunion is clouded by buried resentments and the impossibility of expressing love for one another. In this overwhelming huis clos, where they struggle to find the right word, they end up saying nothing to each other.
Through Lagarce's singular language, which envelops the text with its fragile, faltering breath, the author here paints a family picture of hesitations, unspoken words and silences, this theater of life where every spectator will find themselves. Thanks to a sober staging, all the power of a drama is expressed, that of the weight of evils.
