Juste la fin du monde

The 90s. Louis, a prosperous, single, childless man in his thirties, comes from Paris to visit his family in the country. He returns less and less often, and it's been several years since his last visit. Cultural differences also divide the families. He arrives to confide a big, heavy secret to those closest to him. Waiting for him are his mother, who lives in memories of the past and his deceased father; his younger brother, who has stayed behind to look after his mother; his wife; and his youngest sister, who considers Louis, who lives in the big city, to be her idol. Silence, embarrassment. The tension is all the greater as we try not to aggravate the still-living wounds.

Each tries to control his emotions, to manage his role, but who's the author? Is numbing ourselves the only way to be together? Where are the limits of selfishness in family relationships, and how important is it to protect our illusions about others? The demands of career and freedom clash with those of caring for loved ones. As if it were impossible to defend anything. A pervasive sense of guilt pervades the entire household. Who earns what in this family, and who owes what to whom? How often do they go home? What is home?

A production straddling the line between reality and model. A theater and a computer game. A family simulator.
