Au bout de ma langue
A story of two languages, two worlds
Taym is nine years old when he arrives in France. All around him, French is an incomprehensible background noise. One day, he falls silent. Takes refuge in silence. Little by little, those around him - his musician father, his grandmother on the phone, his caring teacher - offer him other ways. Voices. A tape recorder, songs, sound fragments become the threads of an inner reconstruction.
Au bout de ma langue is the story of uprooting, but also of weaving: between memory and transmission, between the language of origin and the language of welcome, between past and future. It is a theater of connection, memory and recognition.
A creation designed for living spaces
Imagined to be performed in a town hall, this show is part of Les Tréteaux de France's 4×4 project, which brings theater to public spaces. It invites us to reenchant ordinary spaces, to make them resonate with the stories of today. The wedding hall, here, becomes that of another union: that of a child with his new language, his new country, his new life.
