Un jour sans vent (Une Orestie)
The day without wind is the day of Iphigenia's sacrifice by her father Agamemnon for the Trojan War, which ends at the start of the Orestia, the only ancient tragedy to have come down to us complete. Poet Milène Tournier's heartbreaking writing dialogues with Aeschylus to probe this founding myth, which forcefully questions the relations of power and domination structuring our intimate, social and political organizations. A contemporary take on the ancient myth, the Das Plateau collective offers a total show in which the visual and musical dimensions are as important as the text and the actors. In a scenic device of mirrors and reflections, this poem-fresco reveals the infinite delicacy and tragedy of humanity, our barbarism and our beauty.
"Go ahead but I'm watching you
Sacrifice me
Twice sacrifice me
Enter my body under the columns and call the columns tribunal
Go ahead I'm watching you"
