Seul en scène

Stephan Eicher has been touring for over 40 years, even before his iconic Déjeuner en paix (1991) propelled him to the top of the charts. Every night a different city, dismantling everything to reassemble it elsewhere. The singer had long aspired to stay in a theater, working with the crew of these "dream ships". This solo show, in which he humorously recounts moments in his life and personal stories, features songs written by his friend Philippe Djian, and a few in German by Martin Suter. A mix of rock, French chanson, electronic music and pop. With his acoustic guitar, a piano he designed himself, vintage machines and an accordion, he becomes a one-man band under the direction of his Swiss compatriot François Gremaud, the director of Giselle... and Carmen. presented at Les Célestins in 2023. Far from a traditional concert, this "one-man show" weaves an intimate dialogue with the audience. In the theater, Stephan Eicher finds an ideal setting to deposit his fears and joys, his music and his talent, in an adventure as new as it is regenerating.
