I never interrupted my Diary' I devoted much more time to it mechanically' I would sit in cafés and keep my little register and so as not to drown myself permanently' I also tried to clean up the previous notebooks. Every day' I calmly recopied the previous years. Maybe things will come back without too much violence, we tell ourselves that, I don't know. You can write without writing' cheat' but also stand there in silence' useless or impotent. Some essential text is built up in the head without any desire to see it on paper' without any strength to give it' even if only to oneself.

This second volume, which begins during Jean-Luc Lagarce's stay in Berlin in 1990, presents the last notebooks, XVI to XXIII, of his diary.
