UNEDANSECONTINUE
With undansecontinue, Emmanuelle Huynh revisits thirty years of creation to probe the forces that traverse, displace and reactivate the memory of a movement.
What becomes of a dance when we go through it again, years later, with another body, another gaze? What gestures come back? Which resist, fade or transform? Emmanuelle Huynh, director of the Cndc between 2004 and 2012, reactivates fragments of past pieces with a continuous Dansecontinue, to test their impact on the present. By revisiting nearly three decades of creation, the choreographer engages the body in a sensitive excavation, a stratigraphy of gesture, where forgetting becomes fertile. This new creation explores the resonances of past works, remobilizing them not as archives, but as living matter to be put back into movement. The stage opens up to the overflow of the living, an ecosystem of gestures and forms, where each element recycles and transforms itself. The body is a geological terrain, criss-crossed by sediments, echoes, reminiscences and futures in gestation. Far from a nostalgic rereading, unedansecontinue gives gesture the charge of a passage: between what has been, what persists, and what, perhaps, is already being invented.
