Tout est calme dans les hauteurs
Moritz Meister, an admired writer, lives with his wife in a superb villa in the Bavarian Pre-Alps.
The couple receive a young doctoral candidate, a journalist and the publisher of the work. Mr. and Mrs. Meister put forward their opinions, in a jumble of quotations, aphorisms and assertions.
Austrian playwright Thomas Bernhard implacably denounces the rhetoric and mask of reactionary ideologies. Norah Krief, Nicolas Bouchaud, Frédéric Noaille and Juliette Bialek form this quartet of tragic clowns, taking Thomas Bernhard's irony to new heights. Jean-François Sivadier paints with acuity this portrait of mystifiers as frightening as they are ridiculous.
