On the side of a road, in a deserted motel-restaurant and an empty gas station, as cars whiz past without stopping, these three wait.
Toboso has always lived here. Sometimes she'd like to sell up and go away, but she's waiting for a Quixote who promised to come and get her and whom she believed. One day, he left and never came back.
The waitress knows, there's no doubt about it, her husband will return. And when he does, he'll go easy on her, and she'll finally be able to enjoy her life.
He, the young Pompist, has a head full of dreams. One day, he'll go far away, to America, have a completely different life, and never come back.
