Peau d'âne, la fête est finie
From her reading of the multiple versions of Peau d'Âne, Hélène Soulié delivers an adaptation that is both spectacular and modern. She offers audiences a unique, jubilant experience, through this story that both inhabits and escapes them...
Once upon a time, there was a family, who lived in a house, the most beautiful in the city, the brightest. There were no shadows anywhere and no dust. It was a family that tidied up its shoes on the way home from work, from the lumberyard or the butcher's shop.
It was a family that would have deserved a gold medal, a professional family that would have deserved to be invited to the home of the President of the Republic and to appear on the news. The child was beautiful. Her father told her that when she grew up, she would make the boys very hot, that some of them would go crazy, that she would wreak havoc. Mom sang film music because she loved movies. Dad worked in a big publishing house from father to son. Everyone loved to read the stories he published.
Thanks to its spirited Peau d'Âne, this show succeeds in highlighting the point of view of the child who dares to confront adults. Children and adults, however, are joyfully reunited in a grand fairytale finale... or almost!"
