Nous, les héros, written in 1994, was intended for the "Théâtre de la Roulotte" (Jean-Luc Lagarce's company). This play evokes the life of a theater troupe. After a performance, the actors leave the stage to celebrate the engagement of Joséphine and Raban. In the not-too-distant future, Raban is asked to take over the reins of this small business. What will be the future of this family... of the troupe? This company is at a turning point in its history. The protagonists express their doubts, their misunderstandings, their desires, but the questions raised by the author go far beyond the theatrical framework. "Finding our place", "Making our dreams more or less match the life we lead": Jean-Luc Lagarce tackles these existential questions with clear-sightedness, humanity and humor.
