Mode d’emploi pour metteur en scène en temps de guerre
Ido and Hannan are two Israeli theater directors. One lives in Tel Aviv, the other in Paris. In 2022, a European festival commissions them to create a show on a perfectly reasonable question: What does it mean to be Israeli today? Then comes the attack on October 7 and the extreme violence that erupts in their name. The big existential artistic question: What do we do now? They choose the worst possible option: not knowing. They play themselves, contradicting each other in real time. Genocide, terror, the Holocaust—the words burn, and they sink deeper into their paradoxes. Funny, biting, and at times absurd. A show that seeks neither to reconcile nor to reassure, but to look chaos straight in the eye.
