La luz de un lago
"This is a film about love. [...] characters in this film have no images; they are only words."
In the 1990s, in Manchester, a couple forms, after falling in love at first sight at a Massive Attack concert; in Athens, shortly after the economic crisis, two men meet in the secrecy of a cinema; in a Paris metro train, a biology researcher reminisces about her maritime life in the Pacific; in Venice, preparations are underway for the premiere of an Opera.
El Conde de Torrefiel is a Catalan collective founded in 2010 by Tanya Beyeler and Pablo Gisbert, who see theater as a place of experimentation, where plastic research works to undo narrative conventions, as much as to question the power of the verb. La luz de un lago refers to a love film, or rather a hypothetical love film, of which only snippets of a fragmented scenario remain, projected onto moving surfaces. A voice narrates: four stories, set one within the other, taking place in four European cities, at four different times; four incomplete fictions, missing bodies and landscapes.
