Juste la fin du monde
Jean-Luc Lagarce is now the most-performed French playwright in the world, his texts are on the syllabus of high school students alongside Molière, and many artists have taken up his writing in recent years (Juste la fin du monde was brought to the screen by director Xavier Dolan in 2016). Set behind closed doors, this masterpiece recounts the return to his family of a son who has been absent for over twelve years. Driven by a desire to pay homage to the playwright's unique language and spirit, director Antoine de La Roche's staging is refined, extremely simple and focused on the emotions. The role of music is paramount, with five live musicians accompanying the show, offering an echo of the unspeakable.
