Inhale Delirium Exhale

A wave rises and breaks in empty space. INHALE DELIRIUM EXHALE, the new tour de force by multi-talented artist Miet Warlop, making its world premiere at the festival, begins with shattering power. From a simple idea springs the extraordinary. With the rhythm of the tides, visual ideas pile up until they form a mountain.

Warlop offers us a translation of the internal turmoil that the creative process arouses in her: a wave swells in her mind and only breaks once in contact with the outside world. It features a group of performers and 6,500 meters of silk fabric which, to the music of DEEWEE, appear and disappear, becoming echoes that animate the space with new life. Bodies and fabrics create an explosion of images - not devoid of humor - with unexpected nods to Greek mythology.

Those who have attended One Song and other of his creations know: for Warlop, art is an experience to be lived, in reference to ritual concerts and choreographic objects. The same is true of this project, his most ambitious to date: the unexpected and an immersion in an elusive and infinitely fascinating visual universe.
