Dom Juan

Since 2023, the success of this reinterpretation of Dom Juan in France and internationally has been undeniable (winner of the Best Performance Award at the Aranya Festival in China). In this version, Dom Juan debunks his own myth: this smooth-talking charmer candidly exposes his relentless quest for power—a power he wields not only over women but over every human being he dares to encounter on this epic journey. Navigating through the ruins of patriarchy, in a set design awarded by the Syndicat de la Critique in France (2023), this reimagining brings together artists from the Capitale-Nationale, France, and the Congo. Together, they will bring Quebec’s prosody to life through Molière’s text, offering a fresh perspective on this antihero whom we invite you to bring down from his pedestal. Featuring the incomparable Congolese performer Shade Hardy Garvey Moungondo, this production is a true dialogue between nations, aiming to shine a broader light on the Francophone world.
