À condition d'avoir une table dans un jardin

"À condition d'avoir une table dans un jardin" is a dramatic, dreamlike, political comedy. In a bungalow in the outer suburbs of Paris, a middle-class couple receives a strange notice. To honor their first "garden", they had once bought a table made of solid Iroko. However, the table's general conditions of sale stipulated that after ten years, they would have to host a Pygmy for eleven nights and ten days. When the term expired, Darius Wengue, a BaMbuti from the Democratic Republic of Congo, arrived in Orgeval to claim his due. He carries out a scrupulous ethnography of the couple.
