"I'm not Ophelia, Ophelia, Ophelia. I come after, that's the story. A gap. Between what we experience and what we see. Between a face and a landscape. But you don't like stories. You like stories, funny stories, beautiful stories, tragic stories, or some other adjective, with a young, beautiful, dead woman, but you don't like history. It hurts you, the story. You'll finish like circus animals, heir princes, slaves. "I hurt here, I hurt there"... But I hurt everywhere at the same time, if you want to know."

Published here are the texts of two plays by Nathalie Garraud and Olivier Saccomano, Un Hamlet de moins and Institut Ophelia. Starting from Shakespeare's roles, free associations and historical bifurcations, they form a theatrical battlefield where the desires and representations of our time are articulated.

The documents accompanying these works are taken from their creative correspondence (with each other, with their teams), taking us into their workshops as artists and thinkers, reconnecting us with the original meaning of dramaturgical work.

Nathalie Garraud is a director. Olivier Saccomano is an author. They co-direct the Théâtre des 13 vents - Centre dramatique national Montpellier.
