Institut Ophélie
A woman, haunted by the name Ophelia, alone at her table in a strange room, summons or suffers apparitions, hears voices and music. Soon, an entire century, from the end of the First World War to the 1970s, flashes around her, clashing with contemporary visions. It's a story in which, from brothel to convent, from girls' institute to family home, from museum to psychiatric asylum, the forms of oppression within four walls are superimposed: the oppression of women. It's a delirium of fleeting paintings, fantasies and discourse. At the heart of this round, the unnamed woman whirls around, inserting herself into the images, placing herself and moving through them, the better to divert, undermine and subvert them. Chief editor, orchestra conductor, surrealist painter, she engages in an exhausting and inexhaustible poetic counter-offensive.
