As a child, the narrator is convinced that she is inhabited by something invisible and menacing, a creature that occupies her mind and prevents her from eating, breathing, sleeping. In search of the word that will allow her to name it, the young girl embarks on a quest to free herself from this violence. Along the way, she encounters mathematics, but also Meteor, a woman who will turn her life upside down...
