A transparent ball, you tip it over and snow falls. This must-have souvenir store item has made generations of children dream. Often tucked away in a drawer after use, it's also a Holy Grail for collectors, always on the lookout for the missing ball that will bring back their lost childhood. Considered derisory, the snow globe is far from a trivial object, as Mohamed El Khatib and historian Patrick Boucheron reveal. In this performance, they show how such a phenomenon of popular culture allows us to question the acts of "qualification" and "belief" which, through operations of aesthetic "blessing" and cultural "sacrament", transform an ordinary object into a work of art.
