With *This Is Unreal*, Liz Santoro and Pierre Godard create a play where autobiography, fiction, and generative technologies blend together to the point of vertigo.

For more than fifteen years, Liz Santoro and Pierre Godard have been collaborating on a body of work in which the stage emerges as a space for sensory experimentation. In their plays, the duo explores how social, political, and technological forces influence our actions, behaviors, and ways of perceiving the world. With *This Is Unreal*, they extend this approach by examining how artificial intelligence is currently disrupting our relationship with reality. More than just a subject, AI becomes a tool here for shifting our points of reference, challenging what we take for granted, and observing how it is already transforming the ways we see, believe, narrate, and move. The piece is based on an autobiographical framework: the dancer recounts her journey, her memories, and her relationship to dance. But this intimate thread becomes blurred when it comes into contact with fictional narratives generated by AI—a concept that the choreography and music extend by interweaving variations whose origin, whether human or technological, remains uncertain.
