As an iconic figure of American postmodern dance, Lucinda Childs returns to the Dance On Ensemble for an original creation and a revival of three major works from her repertoire.

In a milieu largely dominated by the hegemony of the young, high-performance body, the Dance On Ensemble intends to turn perspectives on their head. Founded to value dancers over forty, this company defends a different view of age and restores place, voice and visibility to a generation often relegated to the shadow of the spotlight. Bringing together exceptional performers, Dance On Ensemble builds a demanding repertoire to match their careers, in collaboration with major choreographers on the contemporary scene. By inviting Lucinda Childs, the Dance On Ensemble celebrates the power of a living heritage, always reinventing itself. Inspired by the texts of Gertrude Stein, her new creation STEIN is an opportunity to revisit her early choreographic research, alongside dancer Miki Orihara. In addition, three emblematic works from the 1970s (Untitled Trio, Interior Drama and Radial Courses) show the beginnings of a formal language that would become a benchmark over the decades. A retrospective look that testifies to the ever-vibrant radicalism and modernity of his writing.
