Wandering through mental landscapes of dance, music or birds, whistling a youthful tune, getting lost in memories. The inimitable choreographer Boris Charmatz drifts alone on the thread of a waking dream. Between hypnosis and jolts, inner worlds and popular ritornellos, SOMNOLE is a danced dream, both personal and generous.

His signature pieces for a multitude of dancers include 10000 gestes and Liberté Cathédrale. He now directs the prestigious Tanztheater Wuppertal, home of the famous late choreographer Pina Bausch. Yet here is Boris Charmatz solo, shirtless and wearing a colorful kilt. His eyes half-closed, in a halo, he traverses intimate states and revisits his musical loves - Billie Eilish, Frank Sinatra, Bach. Contemplation and groping are followed by jerky breathing.
