Silence, ça tourne

International humanitarians and activists, leading witnesses, recall a dark episode in the Lebanese civil war: the 1976 massacre perpetrated in a Palestinian camp by Christian militias. Rediscovered at the age of 74 by Chrystèle Khodr and Nadim Deaibes, Eva Ståhl, a Swedish nurse with an epic destiny, is the main witness.

The voice of the former nurse, a revolutionary activist, is joined by those of a Palestinian doctor, a Swedish war reporter and an official of the International Red Cross, among others. Questions of commitment, of the trace, of the repetition of History, are at the heart of the work of Lebanese artist Chrystèle Khodr, who carries with constant dignity this one-woman show, with its highly inventive scenography, imbued with echoes of her own history and recent events in the Middle East.
