Sans tambour

It all begins with a collapse: that of a house, like that of a piece of music. On stage, the space deconstructs as the stories unfold, mirroring the despondency felt by the characters, in tune with this seemingly perfect music. For the protagonists, these endings are attempts at beginnings, starting points for the construction of new fictions. Creators of musical shows where humor battles with depth, Samuel Achache and his actor-musicians take their exploration in Sans tambour even further. Robert Schumann's Lieder, emblematic of German Romanticism, provide the impetus for a fragmentary dramaturgy, collectively composed. These finished forms with their unfinished content plunge us into ultra-subjective images, fleeting but profound. How is it possible to reconstruct musically from disaster?
