Notre ronde

In 1897, Austrian writer Arthur Schnitzler wrote La ronde, a work that would become a classic of the international theater repertoire. The play, written for ten actors, is a succession of ten brief dialogues. The text brings into play the relationships of power and domination (sexist, classist, etc.) that govern Viennese society at the beginning of the 20th century. In his staging, Gurshad Shaheman retains the backbone of Schnitzler's play, while inviting the PSPBB/ESAD students to relate it to the concerns of their own generation. Through the filter of their views on our world today, we cross the issues of sexist and sexual violence, the struggles for equality and against assignment, the commitment to greater social and ecological justice.
Our Round is intended as a portrait of a committed and active youth.
