Chez Samy
To celebrate his last son's birthday, everyone is there: Samy, his family, his friends, near and far, and the dead, who also have their say to better understand the origins of this living-together. All the languages mingle, people sing, dance and fight to support Samy, whose café is due to close due to urban renewal. There's nothing nostalgic about them, just the strength to fight to build a future in their own image.
Seine-Saint-Denis is the object of every fantasy and caricature, but behind it all lies the reality of a territory representative of a France rich in its multitude. This is what fascinated Claire Lasne Darcueil, who brought together professional and amateur actors to imagine a theatrical fable, a hard-hitting saga revolving around a heroine: Samy and an emblematic place: her café.
