My dinner with André
In My Dinner with André, based on the screenplay of Louis Malle’s film of the same name, Damiaan De Schrijver (tg STAN) and Peter Van den Eede (DE HOE) share a gourmet meal, prepared each evening by a different chef. Since its premiere in 1998, the show has toured Flanders, the Netherlands, and France, and has been presented in Switzerland and Canada. It won the Grand Prix at the Theater Festival in 1999, the CJP Youth Prize, and was nominated for the Océ Podium Prize.
Nearly thirty years and more than two hundred performances later, the passion is still there, and here they are back at the table. The concept remains the same: eating, drinking, and chatting. With sharp wit and a healthy dose of self-deprecation, Van den Eede and De Schrijver embark on a surprising, captivating, and at times hilarious marathon conversation, covering life, love, philosophy, science, and—of course, how could it be otherwise?—theater. My Dinner with André may be the most thrilling conversation ever held at a restaurant table.
