La Nuit transfigurée / L'Oiseau de feu

Musique Nouvelle invites spectators to a face-off between two monuments of modern music: Arnold Schönberg and Igor Stravinsky. By revisiting the emblematic works Transfigured Night and The Firebird through dance, theater and performance, the show explores the tensions, dreams and visions of these two composers who turned classical music upside down.
Attached to possible contemporary resonances with our times and inspired by Adorno's reflections, Musique Nouvelle questions the place of new music today, in an era, where new musical genres are constantly emerging like rap, techno or electro. In the age of "new music", what can modern classical music still tell us, what can it be the messenger of?

The Transfigured Night (1899) is the work of torment and fear. It deploys a zone of insecurity into which penetrates an atmosphere of turmoil that the show in turn attempts to embrace by seeking to explore the theater of horror.
The Firebird (1909) carries with it resurrection and dream. It alternates between excessive light and the deepest darkness.
