MOI, ELLES

MOI, ELLES

Add to my favorites

Moi, Elles explores with strength and delicacy the complexity of mother-daughter bonds through the intersecting stories of women from China, Mali and Iran, all settled in France. In a play of mirrors across a dozen scenes, their stories intertwine to reveal the universal echoes of uprooting, silence, love and transmission.

Inspired by her own experience and numerous testimonies, WANG Jing has created an intimate work. Based on the observation that it is individual narratives that construct the collective memory, cultural identities and History of our times, the author and director takes it upon herself to celebrate the often-invisibilized voices of foreign women.

Moi, Elles is a show at the crossroads of disciplines, where theater, dance and music bring out a shared memory and question our relationship to origins, heritage, and what connects us - sometimes in spite of ourselves.
