Les Règles du savoir-vivre dans la société moderne

Add to my favorites

From a veritable 19th-century manual of savoir-vivre, Jean-Luc Lagarce has written a play-monologue in which a lady unrolls all the precepts to be observed socially from birth to death. This subtly funny text, flirting with the absurd, takes an amusing look at human attempts to regulate social relations to the extreme.

Here, the text has been redrafted for four performers, a veritable brigade of propriety, coming to carry the word of good taste. But their actions soon belie their words, and the conference spirals out of control, from misunderstandings to misunderstandings.
