Les Règles du savoir-vivre dans la société moderne

Add to my favorites

Staging the rules of savoir-vivre in modern society means starting from our age, our thirties, which places us at the heart of life and its rules, and asking ourselves what these rules are worth to us, whether they still concern us, whether they leave us with a certain nostalgia, or whether they've become totally obsolete because they've been reduced to a mere straitjacket. It's also an opportunity to rewrite another story based on these rules: that of a young woman who will endure these rules for the first part of her life, escape them for a short while thanks to love, only to be caught up by them at the end of her days.
In an empty circular stage space, the audience is integrated into the scenography, which favors exchange and fosters an unusual closeness with the actors. Eight positions are defined by a seat. It is from here that the actors, in turn, state the rules of etiquette and confront them.
