La Crise

La Crise hasn't aged a day. Is that something to celebrate? Adapted for the stage by Coline Serreau and brilliantly performed by Jean Liermier's troupe, this story of generalized debauchery proves to be a formidable comedy machine.

La Crise, reminder of the facts... One fine morning, Victor, a lawyer and well-established family man, is unexpectedly dumped by his wife and loses his job... but nobody cares! In 1992, Coline Serreau released this film, which sold over 4 million tickets, and named the urgent issues of the day: individualism, downgrading, racism, feminism and ecology! Did you say visionary? Thirty years on, this modern classic bounces back: eight actresses and actors, thirty roles, a cartoonish set. For the same ills, a new remedy: the pleasure of theater!
