J'étais dans ma maison et j'attendais que la pluie vienne

I was in my house waiting for the rain to come, tragédie de l'attente is a dramatic poem. Five women whisper the story of a young man, a young son or a young brother, who left long ago and after his father had chased him away, waited ever since, and returned without saying a word. This five-voice pavane, with its alternating complaints, anger and murmurs, is a mourning ritual that ends with a question: has this young man whom we neither hear nor see ever returned, or are these women imagining his return? Have they dreamt of this young Ulysses returning from his wars? Possibly, wrote the author in his afterword.
