Histoire d'amour (derniers chapitres)
"Lagarce evokes the play in relation to its performance, through the fact that it is performed by actors. And the simple fact of placing the play in the context of its performance undoubtedly sheds light on the subject. Because we realize that the play is constructed like a rehearsal, a theatrical rehearsal, in which we search, grope, hypothesize and have very little certainty. The actors move back and forth between themselves and their characters, and sometimes these boundaries become blurred. This is all the more true as the story being told is inspired by the story they've lived through, and without going as far as settling scores, they find it difficult to tell this story, as it's so close to them, they're the characters. I don't think the performance is designed to dispel this confusion, but rather to nourish it, to find out what it can contribute, what it can shed light on Lagarce's text."
