Hänsel & Gretel

The misadventures of the two children are well known, but this creation virtuosically reveals what makes the salt of tales worthy of the name: fear. Read and performed by Nadia Fabrizio, this Hänsel and Gretel is illustrated live by Lorenzo Mattotti, genius cartoonist and director of the animated film La Fameuse Invasion des ours en Sicile. The story is carried by the imaginative music of Humperdinck and Moussorgsky, performed four-handed on the piano. Playing with the story and the melodies full of poetry and mystery, Lorenzo Mattotti finds in black and white a striking expressionist force to sublimate the children's drama, but also their solidarity and their hope to live long and happy.
