Around this Scenario for a Possible Country, the utopia of the Portuguese revolution of 1974 is explored, right up to its extensions today. Two formidable actors wade through the thousands of pages of debates recorded at the Assembly over the last fifty years. In turn, they become employees, deputies, presidents, men and women of left and right, unfolding the social issues that tear parties, families and individuals apart. Both irreverent clowns and frontline citizens, they tackle divisive issues such as the decriminalization of euthanasia or the episode of the Lisbon parliament under siege, as if they were playing cards. They are one and the same, they are a whole protesting people. Since 2023, they have embarked audiences from the north to the south of Portugal in this incisive tale that cheerfully incites us to take our lives into our own hands.
