When Alice Vannier and Sacha Ribeiro discovered a documentary on the thinking and work of the couple Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub, they became fascinated not only by their filmography, but also by their spats, their refusal to compromise and consensus, their attention to the smallest detail. Alice Vannier and Sacha Ribeiro invent a mise en abyme in which two young artists embark on the rehearsal of a new show, putting their radicalism to the test. It's the challenge of an impossible reconciliation between ideals and actions, a story of an old couple and artistic as well as intimate struggles. It's already the power of art that the duo brilliantly questioned in Œuvrer son cri first performed at Les Célestins in 2022. Since graduating from ENSATT in 2018, these two artists have continued to bring their thoughts to the stage, blending art and politics in an extremely embodied, lively and joyful way.
