Derniers remords avant l'oubli
One Sunday, in the present day, and a country house with nebulous memories and eloquent unspoken words as a receptacle for feelings.
Above all, three youthful friends, Pierre on the one hand, who has remained alone living in this house, and Hélène and Paul, their children and their spouses on the other, who meet for the time of a final confrontation to sell this house they bought together fifteen years earlier....
A merciless witness to his times and the changes they have undergone, Jean-Luc Lagarce, in this very own "Cerisaie", never ceases to dissect the human soul, using laughter as an anesthetic like a shrewd surgeon. With humor, violence and emotion, he depicts the last throes of youthful love before the final departure, before oblivion.
In a staging inspired by the techniques of cinema (ellipses, blacks, cross-fades...), Olivier Broda's aim is to give voice to Lagarce's beautiful and distinctive writing, to find the fever and urgency to tell and let us guess what drives each protagonist: a desire for love and truth impossible to satiate.
Through the prism of this great contemporary playwright, the Théâtre du Temps Pluriel offers a theater of the intimate without artifice, a funny, moving play with a gentle melancholy and where floats the bittersweet perfume of a Sunday in the country.
