Dämon, El funeral de Bergman

Invoking the figure of Ingmar Bergman, Angélica Liddell takes at his word the Swedish filmmaker who wrote the script for her own funeral. In the Cour d'Honneur, surrounded by actors from Dramaten - Sweden's Royal Dramatic Theatre - and her company's usual accomplices, the immense Spanish performer invites us to contemplate our buried fantasies and unacknowledged terrors, until we come face to face with the final demon, which is not Death but Vanity.
Angélica Liddell's performances exhibit "what we dare not talk about at dinner parties": this fiery word that finds refuge on stage, the performer calls "the pornography of the soul". With DÄMON, she dreams of a theater with the force of a religion, where we pray for collective salvation.
