Dance duo explores the luminous side of strength
Inspired by the exhibition on heroic male figures in Courbet's paintings, two dancers from the hip-hop collective Porte-Avions step outside the box to question the notion of strength. Far from manly, conquering representations, they explore a shifting power that allows itself to be gentle, fluid and vulnerable, as much as brutal and untameable. Between tension and release, anchoring and suspension, they oscillate between the fixed and the living, imagining an energy capable of reinventing itself in each body. A dance that opens up a space for emancipation, where other forces rise up, resolutely free.
