(ou la révolution racontée aux enfants et à leurs parents)

After L'Histoire de l'argent racontée aux enfants et à leurs parents!, it's the history of the Revolution that comes to the table with Brioches et révolution ! The second opus from Bérangère Jannelle and her theater of table and objects, sets the scene in a profound yet light-hearted, serious yet playful, educated yet visual way, the history of the events of 1789. Using bread and buns, liters of coffee and hot chocolate, the actors open the bakery of history and current events, explaining the revolution to families.
Through the art of "boulange", young and old alike will rediscover a whole part of our history: the bread crisis which, before 1789, federated the revolt of the poorest. Two actors play all the roles (the deputies, the King and his council, the people of Paris...). They have all the bakery props at their disposal to represent the historical protagonists. Armed with sugar bowls, chopsticks like rifles, tea towels as scarves, they will tell the story of and embody the little-known characters of history as well as the famous ones, giving substance to debates and street events.
By bringing the issues of the Revolution up to date, this show engages young and old alike to reflect on the role of citizenship and public debate. It celebrates this very French democratic passion and awakens our desire for a new world. To the arts, citizens!
