Edouard PONS
Edouard Pons (1947) was born in Madrid to a Spanish mother and French father, and grew up and lived in both languages. After schooling in Madrid, Lisbon and Tunis, he studied literature at the Lycée Henri IV (Paris), and Spanish at the Sorbonne. He traveled throughout Latin America (1971-1973), from Mexico to Peru, on foot, by truck and even by pirogue, taking part in the collective construction of adobe houses in Mexico and the coffee harvest in Ecuador. While working as a journalist for Agence France-Presse in Lima in 1974, he became correspondent and director of several bureaus in Latin America, Spain and Portugal. He is a member of Eurodram's castellano & gallego committee.
