Zone à étendre
‘Zone à étendre’ by Mariette Navarro is a play that explores collective resistance through the journey of a group of individuals leaving the city to head for a forest, in search of a clearing where they can rebuild a community. Structured into 45 short scenes, the play blends personal stories with political reflections, questioning contemporary ways of life and the possibilities of withdrawal from a system deemed alienating. The characters, anonymous and ordinary, embody a quest to reconnect with the natural world and with themselves, whilst confronting their doubts and utopian dreams during a symbolic journey.
Mariette Navarro employs a refined and poetic style that favours choral dialogue and physical sensations to evoke a gentle ‘micro-insurrection’ against social norms, in which the forest becomes both a space for re-enchantment and a laboratory for new forms of coexistence, subtly exploring the links between ecology, individual freedom and collective commitment.
