A tattoo parlour has opened on the site of an old café in a house behind Reykjavik’s main street. The tattoo artist rents his shop to a philosophy student who is writing a thesis on tattooing.

The present and the past intertwine: those who visit the tattoo parlour will come across members of the family who once lived there. And whilst disoriented young people seek meaning in their lives through the ritual of tattooing, the dead, haunted by their past, continue to live as if their stories were not yet over. All this takes place in a utopian Reykjavik where the heat is scorching.
