A European photographer at the end of his tether washes up in Iamé, a village in Mali. This man is ill: something is growing in his chest. Two interpretations clash on this matter: that of the traditional African village, for whom this man is a bringer of fertility, and that of Western science, for whom a mass of cells is proliferating within him. In enigmatic language, Laurent Contamin presents a simple fable in which the African village and the global village, the primal myth and cloning, coexist; where the poetic and the political, the carnal and the spiritual, intermingle.
