Through the journey of three friends, all virtuoso pianists with brilliant careers ahead of them, Jean-François Sivadier questions the secret, sometimes antagonistic aspirations that jostle in the heart of every artist, between ambition, sacrifice, the need to bear witness to the world, the temptation to flee it, the desire to be loved...

Sentinelles, written and conceived for three actors, is the story of three virtuoso pianists who meet as teenagers and become, overnight, inseparable. They will spend three years at a prestigious music school, before competing in an international piano competition, at the end of which, for reasons that are more or less mysterious, they will part forever.

As dissimilar as they are complementary, admiring each other, the three men will support and fight each other in a delicate balancing act, between their relationship to the world and their way of practicing their art. The trio's agreements and disagreements trace an initiatory path, at the end of which each man has a rendezvous with himself. A story like a pretext for questioning the contrary winds, the violent currents that can clash, agree or merge in the secret relationship that each artist maintains with the world.
